More new Zuid-Holland pages

Two more pages were added to the Zuid-Holland section; a fairly elaborate (close to complete) one about Alphen aan den Rijn municipality, and a good start (only two of its eight locations covered) at Bodegraven-Reeuwijk.

New Zuid-Holland pages

A new and more expansive page about Voorne aan Zee municipality replaces the old one about Brielle. The page about the reformed church of that specific town (see picture) is also updated. 

Also new is a page about the reformed church of Hendrik Ido Ambacht.

New Zuid-Holland pages

Three new pages have been added to the Zuid-Holland section. First, a fairly expansive page about Hoeksche Waard municipality, with 17 churches. Two of these churches have a page of their own, the Reformed churches of 's-Gravendeel and Oud-Beijerland respectively.

Some municipal changes

Some updates before I forget about them. Mostly about 'newish' pages replacing older pages and largely containing the information of these older pages, but not without revisions and the odd picture change. 

• In the Gelderland section a big new page about West Betuwe municipality replaces the older pages about the former municipalities of Geldermalsen, Neerijnen and Lingewaal. 
• In Noord-Brabant the page Land van Cuijk is taking the place of the pages about the former municipalities Grave, Boxmeer and Sint Anthonis. The page about Uden is replaced by a new page about Maashorst municipality. 
• In Zuid-Holland the page about Noordwijk is expanded with churches in villages that were part of Noordwijkerhout until 2019. No page replaced here, only new content added.

Another architect

A new page has been added, about architect J.W.A. van Gils (1864-1919) and his ecclesiastical works. To accompany this page there's also a new page about his church St. Nicolaas en Gezellen in Delft.

Some new Zuid-Holland pages

 A brand new page about the four churches in the Pijnacker-Nootdorp municipality. The old page about the catholic church St. Bartholomeüs in Nootdorp has many new pictures as well as some better versions of older pictures while the text has been rewritten. 

And that's not all, because there are also new pages about the other three churches: the reformed churches of Nootdorp and Pijnacker and the catholic H. Joannes de Dooper in Pijnacker.

As promised, here are a few more pages for the Zuid-Holland section. There's a small page about the churches in the city of Zoetermeer (old part of town only, four churches) and there are seperate pages about two of these, the reformed church (picture) and the catholic St. Nicolaas.

A refurbished page about the Leidschendam-Voorburg municipality today, with two pictures replaced and four objects added. It's now fairly complete.

Zuid-Holland updates

Four pages in the Zuid-Holland section are updated with new pictures. These include a few Photoshop compositions, especially of the Grote Kerk in Den Haag and the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft, and to a lesser extent the Oude Kerk in Delft and the reformed church in Haastrecht.

There are several improvements to the page about Gouda today, with four pictures replaced and three objects outside the old center added, such as the one in the picture above. 

And one more...

Following last week's update is a new page about another church in Schoonhoven, the Roman Catholic St. Bartholomeus, a somewhat curious creation by architect E.J. Margry. 

Two Zuid-Holland pages updated

The older page about Krimpenerwaard municipality is renewed with better pictures replacing some of the old ones as well as adding some more objects. There's also an improved version of the page about the reformed church in Schoonhoven, with a few better pictures and a more elaborate history.

Zuid-Holland update

The page about the city of Dordrecht is updated with five more objects, two of which are in the center while the other three are in the southern Krispijn neighbourhood, a part of the city not covered until now. 

Zuid-Holland and Utrecht changes

Merging municipalities are not unusual anymore, there are a few every January, and they're always a pain. I know I haven't made the appropriate changes to all pages involved for last year, let alone this year. This January came with a rare, and hopefully never to be repeated case. Not only did three municipalities become one, two of those were also transferred to another province. The new Vijfheerenlanden municipality page replaces the former Vianen (Utrecht section) and Leerdam (Zuid-Holland section) pages.The good news is that it also comes with four new churches in villages in the former Zederik municipality (a page I never finished), such as the one in the picture. Having to also transfer the pages about the reformed churches of Leerbroek and Leerdam to the Utrecht section is a thing I did not enjoy at all. There may be some loose ends.

If only politicians were more aware of the consequences of their decisions....

Even snel in het Nederlands: er is een nieuwe pagina over de kersverse gemeente Vijfheerenlanden in de provincie Utrecht. Deze vervangt de pagina's over Vianen en Leerdam. Hiermee neemt ook het aantal tweetalige pagina's met één af tot 200. 

Major Rotterdam update

The pages about the city of Rotterdam and its southern part Rotterdam-Zuid have had a massive update with pictures and descriptions of no less than 17 objects added, mostly from neighbourhoods that were missing until now. Plus, a couple of older pictures were replaced and lots of text rewritten.  

Some more Zuid-Holland updates

The pages about the towns Gorinchem and Leerdam are now about the eponymous municipalities, with several village churches added. Also some older pictures have been replaced by better ones. The page about another municipality in the same region, Giessenlanden, also had two important objects added.

Zuid-Holland again

Two new pages in the Zuid-Holland section; one about the churches of Wassenaar and one about its major church, the Reformed church. Which has to be one of the most interesting churches in that province.

Zuid-Holland, two churches

Following the page about Voorschoten published two weeks ago are two new pages about the most important churches of that village, the reformed Dorpskerk (left picture) and the catholic St. Laurentius (right). Both are from the 1860's and are in early neo-Gothic style, and the latter is the first complete church by architect Th. Asseler.

Zuid-Holland new page

There's a new page in the Zuid-Holland section about the village of Voorschoten.
