The last update was six months ago, so it´s about time to end the radio silence. The pages about the following architects have all been updated with at least one picture each: J.Th.J. Cuypers, G. van Hoogevest, Margry family, Th. Molkenboer, E.J. Rotshuizen and J. Wielders.

Noord-Brabant once more
Two new pages in the Noord-Brabant section, about the churches in the Bernheze and Zundert municipalities respectively. That latter page comes with an updated page about the St. Trudo in Zundert village.

Some Noord-Brabant updates
The new page about Altena municipality replaces the older Woudrichem page and comes with six more village churches not on this website before. There's also a small update to the Oss municipality page, with two churches added.

New Noord-Holland page
Another new page in the Noord-Holland section shows the most important churches in the Amstelveen municipality. Also the very old (2003!) pages about the St. Urbanus in Bovenkerk and the church of the same name in Nes aan de Amstel were given a bit of attention.

Some Gelderland and Noord-Brabant improvements
In an attempt to clear my massive backlog, today here are some modest updates to pages about municipalities in the provinces Gelderland and Noord-Brabant. For Gelderland these are Nijmegen, West Maas en Waal and Wijchen, for Noord-Brabant these are Bergeijk and Oirschot. To all pages two or three objects were added.
More similar updates coming soon.

...and another one
As a result of the same trip that lead to the Den Helder page now comes a page about the Schagen municipality. Far from complete but a nice start anyway, and I'm certain someday it will be expanded.
And in the proces also the very old page (2003 or 2004 I assume) about the big reformed church of the town of Schagen was updated with mostly new text.

Finally, an update
Yes, it's been way too long but finally here's an update again. A new and fairly complete page in the Noord-Holland section tells about the churches in the Den Helder town and municipality in the very north of the province, not counting the islands.
The same trip I made in that area also resulted in some new pictures for the pages about architect Th. Asseler, Th.

Architects and Noord-Brabant
New pictures have been added to the page about Meierijstad municipality in the Nood-Brabant section.
Also new pictures for some architect's pages, such as C. Franssen, J.H.H. van Groenendael, the Margry family, H.J. van Tulder, A. van Veggel and W. te Riele. Incidentally, the picture you see here shows one of the latter architect's churches in Germany.

The second update of the year...back to Limburg
Various private priorities and some technical difficulties with storage and hosting have prevented me from more frequent updates this year. But here I am again, with a new page about Kerkrade municipality in the Limburg section. An old wish finally come true, as several churches in the municipality have had a page of their own for decades and this new page finally connects them.
With the problems with storage and hosting now solved, I expect to have more updates soon.

First update of the year
The first update of 2024 is a new page about Steenbergen municipality in the province Noord-Brabant. There was a page about the town of Steenbergen long ago, with only two churches, and I must have taken it down in 2011 at the latest. The new page contains almost all churches of some importance in the municipality, one village is still missing, and is of course a vast improvement.
Looking back at 2023, it was a year with a late start with the first update in May, but eventually with 16 updates posted. These included some big improvements of older pages, notably in the Zeeland and Overijssel sections, but there were also 22 new pages, three of which about architects, ten about specific churches and nine about municipalities.
And now, a new year. Plenty of ideas, an ever enormous backlog and not enough time. Keep watching!

Some more Gelderland
This announcement is a bit overdue as I have been struggling with an error in the html-code of one of the pages involved, but here we are with a new page about the Reformed church of Beekbergen as well as some improvements to the pages about Apeldoorn, both the city and the villages in the eponymous municipality as well.

Two architects
Two new architect pages were added, by coincidence both about architects from the city of Rotterdam but each representing a different period as well as a side of the spectrum. The relatively unknown W.C. Coepijn designed several eclectic protestant (Gereformeerd) churches and is difficult to find information about, while there is so much to tell about the catholic P.G. Buskens that I had to restrict myself to the essentials.

...and some more
The Gelderland section has three new pages, one about Heerde municipality and the other about the reformed churches of the villages Heerde and Vorchten (picture).

A bit of Gelderland
The pages about the town of Harderwijk and the Barneveld municipality both had some objects added and a few pictures replaced, while the page about the reformed church (see picture) in the town Barneveld has a few new pictures as well.

More new Zuid-Holland pages
Two more pages were added to the Zuid-Holland section; a fairly elaborate (close to complete) one about Alphen aan den Rijn municipality, and a good start (only two of its eight locations covered) at Bodegraven-Reeuwijk.

New Zuid-Holland pages
A new and more expansive page about Voorne aan Zee municipality replaces the old one about Brielle. The page about the reformed church of that specific town (see picture) is also updated.
Also new is a page about the reformed church of Hendrik Ido Ambacht.

A bit more of Zeeland and another architect
More Zeeland news. Following the previous update is a renewed page about the reformed Grote of Maria Magdalenakerk (see picture) of Goes. Also, two more pages about municipalities were added, Kapelle and Reimerswaal. This means twelve, out of a total of thirteen, of Zeeland's municipalities are now represented with a page on this website. In the proces the page about the reformed church of Kapelle and Kruiningen were also updated.
And then there's a new page about yet another largely forgotten, and in this case quite mysterious architect, H. Onvlee, a man whose career as a (protestant) church architect fits mostly in a single year and who would never see one of his churches completed.

Zeeland updates
Today I have for you an update to the page about the municipality of Goes as well as a new page about Schouwen-Duiveland municipality. Also, the page about the big church of Brouwershaven is updated with almost all new pictures.

Big Haarlem update
The page about Haarlem, the capital of Noord-Holland, is updated. Long overdue, because many churches were missing and I intended to fix this in 2012 already, but with pictures of not very good quality. Thankfully, I no longer need those. Six old pictures were replaced today, while eight churches were added. Also, there are some new pictures on the pages about Haarlem's biggest churches, the Gothic Grote Kerk and the St. Bavo cathedral.

Twente again, and a few architects updates
Returning to the Twente region of Overijssel once more, the pages about the municipalities Dinkelland, Hof van Twente and Tubbergen have all been expanded with a few objects each.
New pictures were added to the pages about architects E.J. Margry and Th. Molkenboer.
And then there are two new pages about architects. Both relatively unknown and mostly of regional importance, but with enough pictures of their works at my disposal to warrant a bit of research. Some very incomplete biographies but with some quite complete lists of churches. Find out more about the protestant architect J.B. Radstake and the catholic G. van Vogelpoel (the picture shows one of his churches) and his son W.J. van Vogelpoel.
