The very last update of this somewhat strange year concerns some pages in the Gelderland section, all with several new pictures and much enhanced text. These are the Stefanus in Zoelen (picture) and the St. Maarten in Tiel, as well as the Gasthuiskapel and St. Maarten in Zaltbommel. The page about Zaltbommel municipality now shows a few more village churches.

An update to the last update: the pages about three of Alfred Tepe's most important churches have new pictures and improved text. These are the St.Michaël in Schalkwijk (picture), the Onze Lieve Vrouwe ten Hemelopneming in Houten and the St. Nicolaas in Ijsselstein, all in the province of Utrecht.

It's been a long time ago since the last update. There have been changes but most of these were small ones. Today's update is a little bigger. First, the page about the city of Roermond now covers the municipality and contains churches in most of the villages around the city. The pages about the Munsterkerk and the Minderbroederskerk in Roermond itself have a few pictures added or replaced, as has the one about the St. Dionysius in Asselt.
Then there's a big update to the page about the Maasgouw municipality. Seven objects were added while several pictures were replaced. New pictures also at the pages about the St. Martinus in Linne and the St. Gertrudis in Maasbracht. Entirely new is the page about the St. Stephanus in Stevensweert.

After the A.J.N. Boosten theme last December I decided to have a good look at the work of another architect, W.A.M. te Riele, the last neo-Gothic architect of the Netherlands and a very productive one too. In the past months several pages about some of his churches were improved already and mentioned as an update, like the
- Arnhem (G): H. Hart van Jezus
- Lichtenvoorde (G): St. Bonifatius
- Lonneker (Ov): St. Jacobus de Meerdere
- Koewacht (Z): St. Philippus en Jacobus
- Oldenzaal (Ov): Allerheiligste Drieëenheid
- Ossenisse (Z): St. Willibrordus
- Eindhoven-Gestel (NB): St. Lambertus
- Stampersgat (NB): H.H. Martelaren van Gorcum
- Veldhoven-Dorp (NB): St. Caecilia
- Hooglanderveen (U): St. Joseph
- Kamerik (U): St. Hippolytus
- Werkhoven (U): O.L. Vrouw ten Hemelopneming
Which brings the total number of pages about specific churches by Te Riele to 23, not counting enlargements.

In the last few weeks several pages in the Noord-Brabant section were given some attention especially in the picture department. Take a look at the improved pages about the St. Nicolaas in Helvoirt, the Reformed church of Sprang-Capelle and the St. Gummarus in Steenbergen.
In the meantime I'm working on a bigger update concerning the work of a specific architect, parts of which will be put online as soon as they're ready but which I will anounce here only when everything is done and working.

Happy 2021! I'm sure 2020 was a strange and difficult year for everybody, including myself, but for me it was not without its merits. I only made two trips the whole year to take new pictures, visiting 21 towns and villages in two provinces and photographing 42 churches, 18 of which for the first time. On the plus side: I learned a couple of new Photoshop skills and had plenty of time to put them to good use, resulting in many improved pages, many of which I failed to mention in this blog.
There were only 18 new pages, 15 of which are about specific churches. Archimon had a total of over 20.000 pageviews by some 7700 visitors from 107 countries.
The first updates of 2021 are improved pages about the churches of Waalwijk, Noord-Brabant. Like the St. Jan as seen above, but also the reformed church and the Mariakerk. A nice colourful start of what hopefully will be a better year.
